I've been waiting for this dinner since I started this blog. Rachael Ray only has about ten pictures out of all 366 recipes in this book, and one of the pictures in her book was this dinner. It always looked so good. I never read the ingredients in the recipe until last week, however. I had to take the "martini" out the shrimp martinis and I had to take the "Manhattan" out of the Manhattan steaks. There was vodka, vermouth, whiskey..........all kinds of fun stuff for a little Mormon girl. So, I had to replace chicken stock for all that. I should have skipped it altogether. But, basically after everything was changed and modified to keep me on the straight and narrow, it was basically just some New York Steaks with roasted fingerling potatoes and shrimp. (Just for presentation, I filled the glasses with ketchup so it would look like authentic cocktail sauce!) On a side note, I did do something tonight I have never done before. I grilled these steaks on our outdoor BBQ. Justin has always done the BBQing in the house, and tonight I did it for the first time! It was very empowering!!!!!!!! Kendra, you would be so proud of me! Everything tasted pretty good too.
