#201 Aussie Meat Pies


Everyone has had sloppy Joes. And most people love them. This was a different take on them. This is Australia's version of a sloppy Joe. Next time, I will just use one puff pastry sheet, open it and fill it. It didn't really work with two, too much flaky pastryness. It's kinda funny, I think of puff pastry as something you use for sweet dishes or for brunch at some gay bridal shower. And to combine something feminine like that, and fill it with manly beefy meat sauce, was a little confusing for me to eat. I wasn't sure whether to be delicate and cut it with a knife and fork, or manhandle it and eat it like a burger, so I tried it both ways. But this is me we're talking about, so you know I ate it with my hands! It was good! Weird and confusing, but good.
