#14 Fiery Hot Texas T-Bones with Chipotle Smashed Potatoes and Pepper Saute

Today I basically made hot steak with hot mashed potatoes and hot peppers. The picture isn't that great. Steak always looks better just as is with no fancy crud on top. 'Course then it's looks like a heart attack commercial, but whatever. I was REALLY worried that it would be too hot for us, and especially for the food monster in diapers. But, oddly all the heat must have cooked down, because I did it exactly the way the recipe said, and it turned out tasting like fajitas. Sweet and smoky. This is Rachael Ray here people, her recipes are always spicy to me when it's not even supposed to be! These t-bone steaks were ginormous! As big as the plate. And it tasted just like a huge chunk of fajita meat. It was perfectly cooked and super tender ( I have no idea how many minutes on each side, I just watched it under the broiler.) As a side note, for all you Roberts' boys who don't think you like tomatoes, you do! How do you think they make spaghetti sauce? I put grape tomatoes in with the peppers and the jalapeno and let it cook down until the tomatoes bust out of their skin and cook down. They get all thick, and to me (Juts didn't trust me, so he didn't try it) it tasted like spaghetti sauce!!!!!!!!!! I was surprised. It might be a good way to get your kids to eat their tomatoes.
