Havarti cheese is cream colored. Soft, and VERY BUTTERY. When I made a grilled cheese sandwich with this, it almost made Justin gag, because it literally tasted like a slab of butter. Super creamy. It has tiny holes in it all over, much smaller holes than Swiss cheese. It is a Danish cheese. It was named after the farm that it was developed on. Goes great with Turkey, or just on a cracker. Because of it's "melt in your mouth" sensation, it is perfect for fondue!!!! With that said, it's probably great for any dish that you will melt cheese such as Mac-n-Cheese, soup, pasta, or casseroles. I bought the Havarti cheese a while ago, so I don't remember how much I got for the cost. But it was very similar in cost and size to the Gouda cheese I blogged about a while ago.
I'm so impressed with your adventures in cooking. I'd like to do some experimenting!
