I would like to dedicate this dinner post to my Alyssa. I am so proud of the progress that she is making. Before I talk about dinner, Alyssa is off of her feeding pump hopefully for good this time!!! She is eating more than I have ever known possible for her to do. That means that for the first time in her life she is no longer %100 tube fed!!!! She is taking over %20 of her daily intake by mouth. And she is eating more by mouth every day. Some of her favorite foods are top ramen, cereal, pizza, peanut butter, any cracker, chocolate pudding, ketchup, and her absolute favorite food of all.............Oreo cookies! Alyssa has not thrown up in over 2 weeks and has not gagged in that time either (well she did today because she was laughing so hard). And anyone that knows Alyssa knows how good it must feel for her not to be throwing up all the time. So, here's to you and you're future Alyssa. There is a miracle going on in our house right now. =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =) =)
Okay for dinner. I didn't want to have soup on one of the hottest days of the year, so I just added less stock and made it more of a wet dish, which was just fine with me. It's a very basic soup recipe. Again I posted Rachael Ray's base for all her soups in a previous post so, that's all this was with some chicken and a box of white and wild rice cooked to package directions. I wish there was more to tell you about the dinner, but that's all it was. It had amazing flavor and I made just enough because we all know rice is not good as leftovers, especially in soup, it puffs up and then you think you have mini marshmallows in your soup. So, make sure you eat it all that night, or feed some neighbors or birds.
Yay, Alyssa, you sweetie pie! I'm so thrilled for you all!
